Live Like a Celebrity in Johnny Depp’s L.A. Penthouses

One of the most beloved buildings in Los Angeles, the Claud Beelman Art-Deco-inspired Eastern Columbia Building, now shines even more brilliantly in the downtown skyline with the offering of three penthouses available from celebrity real estate investor Johnny Depp.

Depp has most recently been known for the sale of what many considered an entire 37-acre French village, on which he spent over $10 million in improvements. One renovation worth noting was a church-turned- guesthouse featuring a wine-tasting cave which conjured “The Pirates of the Caribbean” films’ aesthetic.

In that same vein, the Eastern Columbia Building properties feature much of Depp’s signature style, including a floor design inspired by one of his tattoos. Vibrant colors, and unique fixtures, along with salvaged pieces coupled with modern hardware evoke Depp’s whimsical nature.

Number One’s most striking feature may be its 2,400 square feet of vibrantly-decorated interiors that echo the decadent, Art Deco-style of the landmark Eastern Columbia Building, opening to an exclusive outdoor courtyard with skyline views extending all the way to the Staples Center, the entertainment pulse of the city.

Number Two features a red metal staircase soaring over bold, checkered pattern flooring that energizes the entire penthouse, while an outdoor terrace provides direct access to the landmark building’s magnificent sky deck featuring a saltwater pool, spa and sundeck.

Though the smallest of the three units at 1780 sq. feet, Depp’s dreamy playfulness is captured in a captivating wall mural featuring Brazilian street artist Osgemeos which rises floor to ceiling in the loft’s Great Room, as well as a cozy and intimate lounge area on the staircase landing, and chandelier made of lights from an airport in Germany.

Depp’s past real estate holdings also have included a private island in the Bahamas, and a Mediterranean Revival-style compound nestled away behind LA’s Chateau Marmot.

The Penthouse collection is listed with Kevin Dees and Nick Segal with Partners Trust in Beverly Hills. Click here for a video tour and more information on PH1PH2, and PH4.
